The course includes an overview of the developmental sciences and lifespan development. Students will learn how to critically examine research through the use of data based on empirical observation as well as theoretical concepts that may help explain behavior. As a student of this course, you will be introduced to a variety of social theories which form the foundation of much contemporary research on childhood development; psychoanalytic, behavioral, cognitive, and social ecological theory.
